Named for the iris, the flower of hope and messages, this open toi et moi ring sets a pear-cut lab-grown blue diamond like a bud on a slender stem of marquise leaves. Across the open band a small spray of marquise and round white diamonds answers it – two halves of one gesture that never quite close.

A 1 carat centre stone in Fancy Vivid Blue with VS clarity, set in polished 18K white gold and accompanied by its own IGI report. A proposal ring for someone who loves colour, or a quiet everyday promise.

A pear-cut lab-grown blue diamond rises from a polished gold stem set with marquise white diamonds, like an iris bud among its leaves. On the other end of the open 18K white gold band, a spray of marquise and round white diamonds faces it across the gap – a toi et moi, “you and me”, in one ring.

Care

A lab-grown blue diamond is as hard as a mined one, but the pear point, the marquise tips and the open ends of the band still deserve a gentle touch. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Avoid squeezing or bending the open band, take the ring off for sport, swimming or heavy work, and watch that the prongs don’t catch on knitwear. Store it on its own in a soft pouch and have the prongs checked once a year.
