Sapphire is hard-wearing, but a sharp knock can still chip the corners of a step cut. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush, working gently around the baguettes and pavé, and skip ultrasonic or steam cleaners, as the small settings can loosen. Store on its own in a soft pouch, so the angular shoulders do not catch, and have the claws and pavé checked yearly.
